BitterStitch was inspired by the trailblazing work of sister-stitcher Julie Jackson, creatrix of the fantabuloso Subversive Cross Stitch line of designs.   Much like knitters and crocheters before her, Julie updated a classic craft that many of us would enjoy, if only we could find patterns that didn't look like something out of Ladies' Household Monthly, circa 1882.   Julie's concept is brilliant: traditional counted cross stitch motifs embedded with unexpected land mines of brutal honesty and profanity.   

I love Julie's designs and mine are equally adult-oriented, but at more of a PG-13 level.   If (like me) you'd like to express yourself more strongly through your needlework, but despite your best efforts to be liberated you find you're still a little too uptight to hang actual swear words on the wall, BitterStitch was created with you in mind.
